Baltimore

The Church of the Good Shepherd is located in Ruxton, a small enclave of Towson, Maryland. Ruxton is a picturesque suburb located just 12 miles north of downtown Baltimore and approximately an hour’s drive from Washington, D.C., offering residents a tranquil environment with convenient access to urban amenities. The community is known for its tree-lined neighborhoods and lush greenery, providing a serene backdrop for daily life. Families are drawn to the area due to its top-rated public schools, including Riderwood Elementary, Dumbarton Middle, and Towson High School, all recognized as Blue Ribbon Schools. A short drive to Washington D.C., you have many more cultural amenities like The Smithsonian, The National Cathedral, The Tidal Basin with the annual Cherry Blossom Festival, the National Gallery of Art and so much more.

Sports

For sports enthusiasts, we have the Baltimore Orioles baseball and Ravens football teams. US Lacrosse headquartered here, and the sport is popular for all ages. Being close to the Chesapeake Bay, sailing, boating, paddleboarding, river tubing, and other water sports are within easy access. Being centrally located in Maryland, Ruxton offers easy access to the Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey beaches as well as the mountains of Western Maryland. Maryland is known as “America in Miniature”.
